Brecon Carreg shortlisted for Responsible SME of the Year award
We are absolutely thrilled to be able to share the news that we have been shortlisted as one of four companies to potentially win The Welsh Government Responsible SME of the Year Award at The Business in the Community Cymru Awards.
About The Awards
The Awards (#WalesRBAwards) identify and showcase employers from across Wales, regardless of sector or size, that are developing talent, creating stronger links with communities, engaging with schools, reducing environmental impacts, encouraging wellbeing and having an impact through volunteering.
Matt Appleby, Director at Business in the Community Cymru added, “Every year, the Wales Responsible Business Awards recognise companies that are making a positive difference, beyond just profit, right here in Wales. By achieving a place on the shortlist, Brecon Carreg has demonstrated its commitment to operating responsibly, engaging with communities, customers, colleagues and suppliers to have a measurable impact on some of Wales’ most intractable challenges.”
What we’ve done
We’ve been very busy behind the scenes and are delighted that our efforts have been recognised, which include:
- Our extensive CSR strategy
- Several internal projects to reduce our carbon footprint
- Partnerships with Recycle for Wales
- Working with local schools to promote our healthy hydration toolkit
- Receiving independent accreditation from the Ethical Company Organisation.
Jenna Bissell, Marketing Manager at Brecon Carreg concluded,“Being shortlisted is a great achievement in itself and I’d like to thank everyone for playing their part across the business which has made this possible.”
The winners will be announced 28th June.
