Plogging at the Cardiff Bay Run
“What on earth is plogging?” we hear you ask! It’s a new fitness trend that we absolutely love as it leads to a cleaner environment – plogging is the act of picking up litter whilst jogging. In fact, it’s an idea that we liked so much that we decided to give away free spaces to a team of ploggers to run this year’s Cardiff Bay Run!
With the help of Keep Wales Tidy, we’ve recruited a willing group of ploggers who will be donning their gloves and high-viz at this year’s event to pick up litter as they run. So, whether you’re a runner or a spectator, be sure to give them an extra big cheer if you spot them!
We are passionate about helping Run 4 Wales reduce the environmental impact of their races and are confident that the introduction of plogging at the event will be a great step towards improving recycling rates. As always, we’d like to remind runners and spectators that there will be recycling bins located on the course, at the finish line and throughout the race village during the event.
In a further step towards sustainability, we’ve also announced that we will be providing bottles made from 51% recycled plastic at this year’s Cardiff Bay Run. This is a huge step for us towards a greener future and is another step closer to our goal of using 100% recycled or reused material in all of our packaging by 2025.
