Brecon Carreg ranked in top 3 ‘most ethical’ natural source water brands

Back to our blog

We are thrilled to report that Brecon Carreg has been ranked 3rd in the The Good Shopping Guide’s ethical rankings for natural source waters.

The Ethical Company Organisation carries out in-depth research which covers every aspect of the business including the environment, animals and people. Once complete, a full report is produced along with an Ethical Index Score. Brecon Carreg achieved a score of 90/100.

This is the 7th successive year that Brecon Carreg has been awarded this certification, acknowledging our ongoing sustainability and packaging commitments.

Earlier this year, we increased the amount of recycled content in our bottles* to 30% – in line with our target to use 100% rPET by 2025.

Also in 2022, we have also started our Carbon Neutral journey. We have an ambitious target to reduce our own carbon emissions to zero by 2030, with our wider supply chain reaching net zero by 2050, in line with global efforts to limit Global Warming to 1.5C. We will be making significant capital investment in green technologies to get us where we need to be

Only the highest ethically ranked 33% of any particular product sector are eligible for ethical accreditation. The Ethical Award and Ethical Company logos are a guarantee of a company’s high standards and helps consumers make informed decisions on brands so they can shop with a clear conscience.

*Brecon Carreg bottles are made from 30% recycled plastic excluding labels and caps. Our bottles, labels and caps are 100% recyclable so please pop them in a green bin so they can be given a second life

Happy Valentine’s Day! We’re not ones for writing love letters. It’s best left to the finest wordsmith in Wales, Nessa Jenkins – “I won’t lie, you’re not everyone’s cup of tea but at the end of the day when all’s said and done, you’re tidy.”
