We are thrilled to announce that we will be launching our 51% recycled plastic 330ml bottles at the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run this year.
This is a huge step for us towards a more sustainable future and is another step closer to our goal of using 100% recycled or reused material in all of our packaging by 2025. You can read more about our ambitious packaging and sustainability commitments here.
The 330ml bottles are the smallest bottles we produce which ensures runners are suitably hydrated whilst minimising the amount of plastic used on the course.
Brecon Carreg Brand Manager, Eleri Morgan, said: “This is a huge step forward in our sustainability and packaging commitments at Brecon Carreg. We know how hard Run 4 Wales work to reduce the environmental impact of their races so we are very proud to introduce 30% recycled bottles to the Cardiff Bay Run.”
Run 4 Wales Chief Executive Matt Newman said: “As a company who are determined to lead the way towards a more sustainable future in the events industry, we were delighted when Brecon Carreg announced the launch of their 30 percent recycled plastic bottles.
“To achieve our environmental ambitions, we recognise the need to be brave in pioneering new options, engaging participants in our goals and challenging the status quo in the mass participation sports event industry.”
There’s still time to secure your spot on the start line on March 29th. To secure a late entry head over to www.cardiffbayrun.co.uk/.
You might have seen this beautiful image of the Brecon Beacons in some of our adverts, but do you know the story behind it?
Wales may be a small country, but when it comes to recycling, we punch way above our weight. We’re already the third best recycling nation in the world, and now Brecon Carreg is backing the Wales-wide mission to make us first.
In 2017 Bev was chosen as 1 of 10 runners to be part of ‘Team Brecon Carreg’, a brilliant campaign where for every mile we ran between May and November £1 would be donated to the Air Ambulance charity. Find out her journey since.
