Our crafting workshops have been a big hit as we’ve taken them on tour from our local community of Trapp to Cardiff and Bristol. If you want to keep your little ones busy and recycle some bottles here’s a how to guide so you can get involved.
Grab yourself two of our bottles – make sure you’ve drunk the water first – and in each, pop a hole one third of the way up from the bottom with a sharp knife (kids, get your parents to help with this one). This is handily placed at about the fourth ridge up. Cut around the ridge so you have a little tub, but be careful as the edges can be quite sharp.
Take a roll of sticky tape and attach your two tubs together so they flap open. Here you have your basic structure for your monster.
Now it’s time to get really crafty! Get some paint and cover the inside – painting the inside means you don’t have to wait for it to dry before you start decorating.
Use double-sided sticky tape to attach your googly eyes, pipe cleaners, hats and whatever else you think of.
There you have it, your very own Brecon Carreg creature! Make sure to tag us in your pictures, look for Brecon Water or use #BreconCarreg
