A family of runners with their medals

Family Fun Runs

Teuluoedd rhedeg

We’re huge fans of keeping active here at Brecon Carreg, but have you ever thought of running as a family activity?

We’ve been to a fair few running events, both as participants and sponsors, and we’re always thrilled to see so many families taking part in the fun runs before the main event.

Cardiff Half Marathon familyTaking the children running can be a great way to introduce them to health, fitness and good hydration. Short fun runs are ideal for children and with their boundless energy they’ll be running rings around you and tired when it comes to bedtime!

When running with children ensure that you drink plenty of water before and after the run and continue to sip water during activity. We have smaller sized bottles that are perfect for children and also have a sports cap to minimise spillages.

Running is always more fun with others, so have a look for events near you that you can take part in. It’s great for their confidence and winning a medal always makes you feel fantastic! Here are some events around Wales you could take part in.
