You might have seen this beautiful image of the Brecon Beacons in some of our adverts, but do you know the story behind it? Grab a cuppa and we’ll tell you all about it!
We love to use real people in our photography which is why we sent two brave (but willing!) members of staff to the top of Pen Y Fan to capture the perfect photo. Armed with a packed lunch, sensible shoes and plenty of layers, off they marched!
Once at the top, despite being a little out of breath, they were keen to get the shot needed. But the weather had other ideas… along came some thick fog that completely gobbled up the view. Feeling a little defeated, they headed back down the mountain for a sandwich…
Then the weather took another turn. Glorious sunshine! But for how long?! That didn’t matter. It was time to grab the bull by the horns.
With their bellies full of sandwiches and legs slightly wobbly from one journey up already, the race was on to get back up to the top while the conditions were perfect! It wasn’t an easy task but after a few ‘I just need to stop to tie my shoelace’ moments, they were back at the summit… but, you guessed it, the weather had other ideas! The wind was unreal – no wonder the clouds had vanished. Hair and hats were trying to follow suit. Once again, the photo wasn’t going to happen.
So, how did we get the photo? On a different day… with a different person! Despite two determined trips up Pen Y Fan in one afternoon, our poor colleagues didn’t even get to be in the final photo. Maybe next time, guys?
